New Releases

We couldn’t be more excited to share these new vintage release wines with you!

Fruit for this vintage was sourced from several locations in the Russian River Valley, each vineyard site contributing critical, unique aspects to the complexity of the resulting wine.  Vineyards located in the warmer end of the Russian River Valley contribute ripe fruit elements.  Vineyards from the cooler areas lend a strong minerality and structural backbone, and vines at altitude with sandy, well-drained soil add complexity and structure.

Each vintage, we carefully select the best single vineyard lot from across all our vineyards, and that bottling becomes our finest expression of Pinot Noir. It is quite literally the Patriarch of our family of Pinot Noirs as well as an homage to our own patriarchs who taught us to pursue our Callings.

This year, Patriarch comes from Putnam Vineyard on the extreme Sonoma Coast just 6 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The vines are surrounded by Redwoods on all sides and in many areas within the vineyard. The coastal climate and the Goldridge sandy loam soils result in wines with plenty of richness along with some high-toned finesse.

Fox Den Vineyards sits on the Western boundary of the Green Valley AVA in the Russian River Valley, 12 miles from the coast. The microclimate has moderate daytime temperatures, cool nights, and early-morning fog, resulting in a long growing season that is perfect for Pinot Noir. The grapes boast good sugar levels, ripe tannins, and high acid, resulting in dense and complex wines.

The Alexander Valley consists of a broad valley floor bisected by the Russian River.  It is surrounded by hills that block the coastal fog, keeping the region warmer than most of its neighbors.  This climate, combined with well-drained, gravelly soils, help the Alexander Valley produce some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes available.
