This wine was created as Our Tribute to our fathers.  For us, The Calling is about pursuing a passion, inspiring others, and making beautifully handcrafted wines that our fathers would be proud of.  Our Tribute is a blend of four classic Bordeaux varieties: the Cabernet Sauvignon backbone is complemented by Malbec’s rich blackberry flavors, Petit Verdot’s structure and ageability and  Merlot’s softness. The wine has layers of coffee, ripe black plum, and cinnamon, with notes of blackberry, vanilla, and cocoa. It boasts the dense structure and balanced, velvety tannins that the Alexander Valley is famous for.

Vineyard Notes
The 2012 harvest was spectacular. The vineyards in Alexander Valley ripened evenly throughout producing fruit of exceptional structure and concentration. The Calling vineyards matured to perfection which is clearly reflected in the wines produced from 2012.
Production Notes
89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec, 4%Petite Verdot and 3% Merlot
Winemaker Notes
Grapes were hand sorted and gently crushed. After primary fermentation with native yeasts, the wine went through an extended maceration period to soften the tannins. Malolactic fermentation occurred in barrel, and the wine was aged for 22 months in mostly new French and American oak. “Our Tribute” is bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve brightness and complexity.
