Fox Den Vineyard sits on the western boundary of the Green Valley AVA in the Russian River Valley, 12 miles from the Pacific coast. The microclimate has moderate daytime temperatures, cool nights, and early-morning fog, resulting in a long growing season that is perfect for Pinot Noir. The grapes boast good sugar levels, ripe tannins, and high acid, resulting in dense and complex wines.
This 3L large format boasts a beautiful etched front label to make a true statement. Just 20 bottles produced.

Tasting Notes
Aromas of blackberry and spice layered with fresh earth and a touch of vanilla. On the palate are ripe sweet berry fruit notes of strawberry, blackberry, Rainier Cherry and a hint of Cassis tempered by white pepper and earthy layers. The well integrated, silky tannins carry the delicate spices and red fruit through a lingering finish.

Production Notes
Grapes were hand-picked, hand-sorted, and gently crushed. They underwent a seven-day cold soak followed by fermentation with a combination of punch-down and pump-over maceration techniques to enhance flavor extraction.
Winemaker Notes
The 2013 vintage in the Russian River Valley was widely acclaimed as one of the most ideal growing seasons during the last decade. Consistently moderate weather throughout the season yielded balanced chemistry in the grapes and a bountiful crop. Good fruit set in the spring resulted in heavy crops, so some thinning was required. While the clusters were heavy, the berries were surprisingly small, producing concentrated flavors and aromas.
