James MacPhail's Notes

This wine is crafted as Our Tribute to our fathers, who inspired Jim, Peter, and myself to pursue our calling in life. We've partnered with a small family grower on Moon Mountain who embodies that pursuit, growing beautiful, healthy Cabernet Sauvignon amid steep and rocky terrain that requires incredible passion, dedication, and commitment to producing some of the finest Cabernet in Sonoma County.

Tasting Notes

The aromas are rich and spicy with notes of blue and black fruits layered over hints of chocolate, brown spice and vanilla. The palate is robust yet elegant with silky tannins and flavors of black plum and coffee married with a seductive cinnamon spice.

Production Notes

Grapes were hand-sorted and gently crushed. After native-yeast fermentation, the wine went through an extended maceration period to soften the tannins, and malolactic fermentation occurred in barrel. The wine is bottled un-fined and unfiltered to preserve complexity and body.
