    James MacPhail's Notes

This wine is crafted as Our Tribute to our fathers, who inspired Jim, Peter, and myself to pursue our calling in life. We've partnered with a small family grower on Moon Mountain who embodies that pursuit, growing beautiful, healthy Cabernet Sauvignon amid steep and rocky terrain that requires incredible passion, dedication, and commitment to producing some of the finest Cabernet in Sonoma County.

    Tasting Notes

The 2018 Our Tribute features elegant finesse behind a powerful entrance. Dark red and blue fruits are prominent on the palate, with black cherry, blackberry, and blueberry mingling with pepper and hints of cardamom and vanilla bean. Complex layers of cocoa and savory herbs whisper throughout the abundant fruit. Plush tannins, delicately-integrated acidity, and a long, rich finish make this a perfect pairing for robust dishes like peppered ribeye or smoky, grilled portabella mushrooms.

    Production Notes

Grapes were hand-sorted and gently crushed. After native-yeast fermentation, the wine went through an extended maceration period to soften the tannins, and malolactic fermentation occurred in barrel. The wine is bottled un-fined and unfiltered to preserve complexity.
