2019 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Plum red in color with aromas of blackberry, toasted spices, and vanilla. The palate is rich, elegant and beautifully structured with layers of black fruit and freshly roasted coffee, finishing with round and supple tannins.

    The Alexander Valley consists of a broad valley floor bisected by the Russian River. It is surrounded by hills that block the coastal fog, keeping the area warmer than most of its neighbors. This climate, combined with well-drained, gravelly soil, allows the region to produce some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in all of California.

    Tasting Notes

    Deep cherry red color with classic aromas of black fruit and toasted spice, married with hints of blackcurrant and dark chocolate. The palate is rich and inviting with flavors of ripe blackberry pie and complex layers of black pepper, vanilla, and cinnamon. The tannins are robust, yet soft and silky, leading to a long and rewarding finish.

    Production Notes

    Grapes were hand-sorted and gently crushed. The wine underwent natural-yeast fermentation in barrel and had an extended maceration period to soften the tannins. The wine was bottled after 18 months of aging.

    The 2019 vintage is composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
