Russian River Valley AVA
We source from several locations throughout the Russian River Valley, each vineyard site contributing critical, unique aspects to the complexity of the resulting wine. Vineyards located in the warmer end of the Russian River Valley contribute ripe fruit elements while cooler sites lend a strong minerality and structural backbone, and vines at altitude—grown in sandy, well-drained soil—add complexity and structure.
A classic bouquet of dark fruit and Christmas spices. The same flavors return on the palate along with a touch of pepper, forest floor and lovely leathery tannins.
Aromas of Asian pear and crushed white rose petals entice on the nose, and notes of passion fruit, sweet spice and lemon tart combine into a complex, evolving palate. The lively, crisp minerality invokes the elegance of the cool-climate Russian River Valley. With an opulent mouthfeel and precisely balanced acidity, this is a Chardonnay to drink now and with good aging potential.
The 2018 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay is fresh, lively, and fun to drink. Honeysuckle, white rose petal, lemon meringue, and white flowers delight on the nose while crushed white rose petal, Bartlett pear, honeydew melon, and Meyer lemon fill out the palate for a balanced, full-bodied, Chardonnay.
Fox Den Vineyards sits on the Western boundary of the Green Valley AVA in the Russian River Valley, 12 miles from the coast. The microclimate has moderate daytime temperatures, cool nights, and early-morning fog, resulting in a long growing season that is perfect for Pinot Noir. The grapes boast good sugar levels, ripe tannins, and high acid, resulting in dense and complex wines.
Beautifully aromatic with notes of peach, apricot and some subtle oak. A rich mouthfeel fills the palate, balanced with crisp acidity and flavors of stone fruit, pineapple and crème brulée. Well-integrated oak notes are present on the persistent finish.
Concentrated fruit and floral notes on the nose. On the palate, flavors of red cherry, boysenberry, tobacco and a hint of licorice are well balanced with refreshing acidity and elegant tannins.
Subtle new oak notes with bright Bing cherry, white pepper and clove. On the palate, cranberry, pomegranate and red raspberry wrap together with spiciness that is classic to the region. The wine is lush, mid-weight and has a long finish.
